With over 20 years of hands-on teaching experience, Mathamagicians was founded on a simple belief: no student should ever feel lost in maths. What started as private tutoring sessions for neighbourhood students has grown into a comprehensive tutoring service covering IGCSE, GCSE, IB, and CBSE curricula.
Having worked with students from diverse educational backgrounds — from British GCSE boards to the International Baccalaureate and the Indian CBSE system — we've developed a deep understanding of what each curriculum demands and, more importantly, what each student needs to succeed.
Our approach is fundamentally different from classroom teaching. We don't just explain formulas; we build understanding from the ground up. Every concept is broken down into its simplest form, connected to real-world examples, and reinforced through carefully designed practice problems.

Our Teaching Philosophy
Understanding Over Memorisation
We never ask students to blindly memorise formulas. Every concept is explained from first principles so students truly understand why it works — not just how to apply it. When you understand the "why", the "how" becomes intuitive.
Every Student Is Different
A one-size-fits-all approach doesn't work in maths. We assess where each student is, identify gaps in their foundational knowledge, and build a personalised path forward. Some students need to strengthen their algebra before tackling calculus — and that's perfectly fine.
Confidence Is Half the Battle
Many students who struggle with maths don't have a capability problem — they have a confidence problem. Our sessions are designed to build confidence alongside competence. Small wins compound into genuine mathematical self-assurance.
Real Exam Preparation
Understanding maths is important, but so is performing under exam conditions. We integrate past paper practice, timed drills, and mark scheme analysis into our teaching so students know exactly what to expect on exam day.
